⚙️ How to Play

Two players share one device. Each picks their move in secret — then both execute at the same instant.

  1. White selects a piece and destination, then clicks Lock White Move
  2. Hand the device to Player 2 — they see no hint of White's choice
  3. Black selects their move and clicks Lock Black Move
  4. Press EXECUTE TURN — both moves happen simultaneously
  5. The board updates, captured pieces appear on the side panels, and the next round begins

🟣 Purple Lock — No Repeat Moves

The piece you just moved is highlighted purple and locked for one full turn. You must move a different piece next turn. This prevents the same piece from dominating every round and forces strategic variety.

💥 Collision — Same Square, Same Moment

If both players target the same square simultaneously, the higher-value piece wins and stays. If values are equal, both pieces are destroyed — the square is left empty.

♙ Pawn = 1 ♘ Knight = 3 ♗ Bishop = 3 ♖ Rook = 5 ♕ Queen = 9 ♔ King = 100

⚠️ Check — Both Kings Can Be Threatened at Once

Because moves are simultaneous, both kings can be in check at the same time. Each player must independently resolve their own king's danger. Moves that leave your king in check are blocked — they simply won't appear as valid dot targets.

👑 King Capture — The Simultaneous Threat

Unlike standard chess, a king can be physically captured here because both pieces land at the same moment. If your king is taken you lose. If both kings are captured in the same execution, it is a Draw.

♟ Checkmate & Stalemate

Checkmate — Your king is in check and no legal move can escape it. You lose.

Stalemate — You have no legal moves but your king is not in check. The game is a Draw.

Both are detected automatically after every execution, including the rare case where both sides reach checkmate simultaneously (also a Draw).
